Gut Healthy Lactation Cookies

Here’s a Gut-Healthy Lactation Cookie Recipe designed to support milk supply while also promoting gut health! These cookies are gluten-free, dairy-free, and packed with galactagogues (milk-boosting ingredients) and gut-friendly nutrients.


Makes: 12-15 cookies


Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups almond flour (or oat flour for a softer texture)

  • ½ cup gluten-free rolled oats

  • ¼ cup ground flaxseeds (great for omega-3s and milk supply)

  • 2 tbsp brewer’s yeast (helps boost milk production; I like the brand from Legendairymilk.com)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (anti-inflammatory & gut-friendly)

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

  • ⅓ cup coconut sugar or monk fruit sweetener

  • ¼ cup coconut oil, melted

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond butter (or tahini for extra gut benefits)

  • 1 egg (or flax egg: 1 tbsp ground flax + 3 tbsp water, let sit for 5 min)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ⅓ cup dairy-free dark chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, oats, flaxseeds, brewer’s yeast, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and coconut sugar.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix wet ingredients: melted coconut oil, almond butter, egg (or flax egg), and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until combined. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.

  5. Scoop 1-2 tbsp of dough per cookie onto the baking sheet and slightly flatten.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown. Let cool before enjoying.
